很舒服卻又很感傷的Damien Rice - O

一部電影 「偷情」（Closer）讓我認識了Damien Rice這位歌手，只因那首感傷的「The Blower’s Daughter」。同樣的歌聲出現電影的開始與結束，一路搭配電影令人嗟嘆的劇情，情感實在太強烈了。我在從紐西蘭飛回台北空中，竟然也就看了兩遍。回來後上網找尋電影原聲帶，才發現就這麼一首歌跟這麼一個歌手 - Damien Rice。

AMG的評語：Damien Rice’s debut full-length, O, is nothing less than a work of genius。四顆半星的超水準作，裡面就只有空心吉他，大提琴，一點點黑管與鼓聲，淡淡吟唱的人聲，以及一些偶然錄到聲響。一張絕非主流的音樂專輯，卻有著濃郁的難過與悲傷，我真佩服偷情的配樂人，選到無敵之作。電影與音樂相得益彰，再完美不過了。 這幾天幾乎是重複地放了又放，到了愛不釋手的地步。每每聽到The Blower’s Daughter，總讓我想起Closer，想起Closer就想起紐西蘭，想起紐西蘭就想到過往的一切。那堅強又脆弱的娜塔莉波曼讓人好感動，就像最後如此沉重的雲淡風輕，我在一萬多呎的高空中感受到了類似的一切。

這部電影評價太兩極，兩極是因為寫實派against保守派，娛樂片派against內心戲派。不過IMDb觀眾評價已從去年我查時的6.9變為現在的7.4。誠如某位電影評論人說的，真正好片在IMDb的分數是會愈陳愈高的。其實這就跟音樂一樣：史上最受歡迎歌曲 - The Beatles的Yesterday～不是嗎? ^^

  2. 感覺上，英國那邊來的歌手很多都是憂鬱死人不償命的，Morrissey、以前的Radiohead、Coldplay、James Blunt、Damien Rice…都是，搞到我都不愛聽美國藝人的歌曲了～ ^^

  4. halo!i just read the post that you wrote,i’m definitely agree of you because i have the same sense with your,i start to track Damien Rice’s songs after the movie’closer’ and his songs really amazed me!especially’The Blower’s Daughter’,’9 Crimes’and ‘Cold Water’.
    Tell you what, i need to listen to ‘The Blower’s Daughter’before i sleep everynight!I’m glad that you have same opinion with me and wish you all the best yaa… ^^
